Last week (November 12 - 19), metallurgical enterprises left purchase prices for scrap metal at an average level of UAH 9.25 thousand / t. The prices of scrap collecting companies for grade 3 scrap in the regions were at the level of UAH 7.47-7.52 thousand per ton. The upper border of the price range prevails in the southeastern regions of the country.
Supplies to steel plants
Scrap deliveries to metallurgical plants (November 11-18) increased to 61.4 thousand tons. In the previous week (November 4-10) there were 55.9 thousand tons. The demand for scrap was 55.3 thousand tons. metal plants in scrap last week amounted to 112%.
Remains in ports
Scrap stocks in ports increased to 16.7 thousand tons. Last week there were 5.5 thousand tons.
Smelt steel
Steel production on November 11-18 dropped to 398 thousand tons. In the previous week (November 4-10) it was 405 thousand tons.
Scrap stocks at metallurgical enterprises
Remains of scrap in warehouses of metallurgical plants increased to 181 thousand tons. Last week it was 167 thousand tons. Inventories in working days are 22 days, which is 10 days higher than the standard value.
Domestic price forecast
In the near future, scrap quotes on the domestic Ukrainian market will move horizontally due to weakening demand for long steel and a slowdown in the growth of scrap prices in the world. The forecast average price for the current week is 9250 UAH / t.
